JJP MLA Devender Singh Babli and Sunil Sangwan Join BJP

Haryana Assembly Election 2024: On September 2, Devender Singh Babli, a legislator from the Jananayak Janata Party (JJP), joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Along with him, Sunil Sangwan also joined the BJP.

After joining the BJP, Babli stated that there is a strong wave of support for the BJP in Haryana, and people are eager for the BJP to form the government.

Who is Devender Singh Babli?

Devender Singh Babli was the MLA from the Tohana constituency. After resigning from the JJP, he met with Congress leaders, but since there was no agreement on the ticket, he changed his stance. In the last election, Babli defeated the former BJP state president Subhash Barala by over 50,000 votes. Babli has also served as a cabinet minister in the JJP-BJP government.

Who is Sunil Sangwan?

Sunil Sangwan is the son of former Haryana minister Satpal Sangwan. He was a jail superintendent and recently resigned from this position after serving in government service for about 22 and a half years. Sunil Sangwan may contest the election from the Charkhi Dadri seat. His father, Satpal Sangwan, had also entered politics after resigning from his position as an SDO in the Telecom Department and joined the BJP two months before the Lok Sabha elections.

Voting for all 90 seats in Haryana will take place on October 5, and the counting of votes will occur on October 8.
