Uttar Pradesh: In several districts of Uttar Pradesh, people are living in fear due to dangerous wild animals. In Bahraich district, many villages are terrorized by man-eating wolves. Seeing the increase in wild animal attacks, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken action and given instructions to the concerned officials.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Key Instructions:
- The CM has directed that efforts be made to control and capture man-eating wolves or leopards attacking certain areas. Necessary actions should be taken.

- He has previously instructed that the administration, police, forest department, local panchayats, and revenue departments create widespread awareness in these areas about safety measures.
- Additional personnel should be deployed by the forest department in Bahraich, Sitapur, Lakhimpur, Pilibhit, Bijnor, and other affected districts. Joint patrolling should be increased.
- Senior officials should set up camps in these districts and work with local representatives. Where there is a lack of lighting in rural areas, arrangements for Petromax lights should be made.
- Uttar Pradesh is the first state to declare human-wildlife conflict as a disaster. Instructions have been given to provide all possible assistance to those injured or affected by wildlife attacks.
Wolf Terror in Bahraich:
In around 35 villages in Bahraich, wolves have caused terror. An operation by the forest department is underway to capture these wolves, but it has not yet been successful. Wolves have already killed 9 people, including 8 children, and injured over 35 people in this area. The forest department captured four wolves on Thursday and has 22 teams working to catch the remaining two.
Efforts by 22 Teams:
DFO Ajit Singh reported that 22 teams have been combing an area of 75 kilometers to capture the dangerous wolves. Since the capture of the wolves on Thursday morning, no new signs or activities have been reported in the area. Villagers have been advised to stay alert and avoid going outside at night. For essential tasks, people are advised to go out in groups.
