The Indian squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 has been announced, but changes can still be made. The ICC has set a deadline of February 11 for all eight teams to finalize their players. Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness remains a concern for Team India.
Bumrah Under Medical Supervision at NCA
According to Times of India, Bumrah has reported to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He will be under the observation of the medical team for 2-3 days. After a detailed fitness assessment, the report will be sent to the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar.
Ajit Agarkar’s Statement
Last month, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar mentioned in a press conference that Bumrah was given a five-week break and would not play in the first two ODIs against England. He said that a decision on Bumrah’s fitness would be made in early February after reviewing all medical reports.
One Week Left for Team India’s Decision
Team India has just one week left to decide whether to keep Bumrah in the Champions Trophy squad or not. All teams must finalize their players by February 11.
Match Fitness Test Against England
To secure his place in the squad, Bumrah is expected to play the third ODI against England and prove his match fitness. His performance in this match will be crucial for the selectors’ final decision.
