Deepika Pallikal : Deepika Pallikal  Harinder Pal Sandhu won the mixed doubles squash gold medal on  October 5, defeating the Malaysian pair  2-0 in the final. Dipika and Harinder defeated Malaysia’s Aifa Binti Azman and Mohammad Syafiq Bin Mohd Kamal 11-10 11-10 in a tense 35-minute final to clinch India’s second squash gold medal in  the ongoing competition. Read the report given below to get the whole information about deepika pallikal and Harinder pal sandhu gold medal in Asian Games 2023 in squash.

SAI Media wrote in a post on X: “Indian squash reigns supreme! Our dynamic mixed doubles team of Dipika Pallallika and Harinder wins GOLD and defeats Malaysia  2-0 in the #AsianGames2022 final!” 

Malaysia dominated the first game but India staged a comeback to win by just one point 11-10. 

In the second match, India led 9–3 but later allowed Malaysia to equalise. However, Sandhu got two crucial points to  secure his 20th gold medal.  Asian Games 2023 . 

After the win, Dipika said, “I don’t always remember what happens on the court. It’s a blur for both of us. We just remember the last point. We’re more than happy. We’re very proud to be here. and win the gold.” Me and Harinder  worked very, very hard to be here now, to be part of this team and to win the gold. We are very humbled to be in the current situation,” PTI quoted news agency Agency as saying. 

India made its mark at the 2023 Asian Games and achieved the best medal tally in the history of the tournament. Till October 5, India has won a total of 84 medals, including 21 gold, 31 silver  and 32 bronze medals.  

Earlier in the day, Indian archers Jyothi Vennam, Aditi Swami, Parneet Kaur won the gold medal in the women’s compound archery team.
