Ahead of the state executive meeting of the JD(U) in Bihar, a demand has been raised to award Chief Minister Nitish Kumar the Bharat Ratna. Posters have been put up outside the JD(U) office in Patna, calling for this honor. The posters were placed by JD(U) General Secretary Chhotu Singh.

‘Nitish Kumar Has Earned Recognition Worldwide’

General Secretary Chhotu Singh stated that Nitish Kumar has made a name for himself globally. He mentioned that the Sikh community praises Nitish Kumar, and people from the US, UK, and Canada have recognized his work. He emphasized that Kumar’s contributions to Bihar’s development are significant enough to warrant the Bharat Ratna. Singh added that the party will express this sentiment during the state executive meeting. He also mentioned plans to raise the demand in front of India’s President and Prime Minister, and if necessary, they would go to Delhi to strengthen their appeal.

BJP Supports JD(U)’s Demand

The BJP has also supported the JD(U)’s demand. BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated that there is no issue with the JD(U) seeking the Bharat Ratna for Nitish Kumar. He noted that Kumar, along with the BJP, established good governance in Bihar, which had been plagued by lawlessness. He highlighted that under their leadership, infrastructure like roads and bridges was built in areas that previously lacked them. Kumar emphasized that there is no objection within the BJP regarding this demand.
