In Amethi district, a tragic incident occurred on Thursday when unidentified attackers shot and killed a government school teacher, his wife, and their two minor children near the Ahorwa Bhawani intersection in the Shivratanganj police station area. Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar Singh reported that the teacher, Sunil (35), lived in a rented house at the intersection. His wife, Poonam (32), their six-year-old daughter, Drishti, and their one-year-old daughter also lost their lives in the attack.
In response to this incident, BSP leader Akash Anand criticized the police. He stated that the police in Uttar Pradesh are very active, but their activity was not effective in preventing this horrific crime where a teacher and his family were murdered in their own home. Sunil’s wife had previously filed a case under the SC/ST Act in Raebareli last month, and the police investigation is ongoing there as well.

Anand wrote that even if the highly active police manage to encounter the accused, what justice will be served to Sunil and his family? He questioned the law and order situation where murders are happening openly in homes. He stated that the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh has collapsed, and neither the public nor the criminals feel safe from the law.
The BSP leader further commented that the BJP’s double-engine government has failed to establish the rule of law. He emphasized that the rule of law cannot be maintained through just bulldozers and encounters, but through genuine legal measures, as demonstrated by their leader during her four terms in power in Uttar Pradesh.
