This service is expected to begin from March 31.
Lower Travel Costs
Currently, the airfare for this route is around ₹4,000. With the introduction of two flights, the fare is expected to reduce to ₹2,500, making travel more affordable for tourists.
Schedule Available Online
The new flight schedule has already been uploaded to the airline’s website. At present, only one flight operates between Gaggal and Chandigarh, which often causes inconvenience for travelers. With two flights, tourists will have more options, and this may also increase the number of visitors to Dharamshala. Gaggal Airport Director Dhirendra Sharma confirmed that the flight schedule will be updated in March.
Boosting Air Connectivity
Himachal Pradesh is known worldwide as a popular tourist destination. Most people currently rely on road travel to reach the region. While rail and air travel options are available, they are not yet widely popular. The state government is working on new air routes connecting Chandigarh, Kullu, and Dharamshala to attract more tourists.
Heliport Development
In addition to improving air travel, the state is rapidly developing heliports, further enhancing connectivity and making travel easier for tourists. These efforts are expected to contribute to a significant boost in tourism for Himachal Pradesh.
