In recent months, the race to develop AI chatbots has intensified. While earlier only American companies dominated the field, now countries like China and others have joined the competition. After China’s DeepSeek AI model made headlines, Saudi Arabia has introduced its unique AI chatbot called Ryan, designed as a labor market advisor. Let’s explore its key features.
Ryan Answers Only Labor Market Questions
Takamol, a company based in Riyadh, developed the AI chatbot Ryan. It has two versions:
- The on-site version answers questions only in English.
- The online version supports multiple languages, including English, French, Arabic, and Spanish.
When asked questions about former U.S. President Donald Trump, Ryan responded that it specializes in the global labor market, not politics.
The offline version provides short answers of 50-60 words to encourage user interaction, while the online version offers more detailed responses. Unlike DeepSeek and ChatGPT, which cover a wide range of topics, Ryan focuses only on labor market-related queries.
India Prepares to Launch Its Own AI Model
India is also getting ready to join the AI race. Recently, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that India would launch its first AI model within this year.
He mentioned that India’s AI model would be similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT and China’s DeepSeek. At least six major developers in India are capable of building an AI model within 6-8 months, according to the minister.
This shows that the global AI competition is only heating up further!
