Jawan Collection : Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan hit the theatres on September 7 and had the biggest opening day ever for an Indian film, collecting Rs 129.06 crore worldwide. On the 23rd (Friday), the film earned Rs 5.25 crore, slightly down from Thursday’s Rs 5.97 crore, taking its domestic total to Rs 587.15 crore. Since its launch, Jawan has crossed the Rs 1,000 mark globally and will soon cross the Rs 600 mark in India. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Even spite on screen for more than 20 days the jawan collection is accelerating day by day.
The film surpassed Pathaan and Gadar 2 at the Indian box office. The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions have grossed a total of Rs 58.82 crore so far.
Jawan is the second highest grossing Bollywood film of all time worldwide after Dangal. According to Sacnilk, the film has grossed an impressive Rs 1,055 crore worldwide. Pathaan ended its domestic release with Rs 543 crore and the film grossed Rs 1,050 crore worldwide. It is unlikely that Jawan will cross Dangal’s worldwide gross of Rs 2000 crore. The Aamir Khan starrer was a big hit in China, but neither Jawan nor Pathan was released there.
Two new movies, Fukrey 3 and The Vaccine War, hit the screens this week. But both the film’s are not good enough to make any sort of impact on jawan collection.Fukrey 3 had a strong opening day collecting Rs 8.82 crore, while The Vaccine War is struggling at the domestic box office, earning just over Rs 1.50 crore in its first two days, according to Sacnilk. However, the makers of Jawan have started the ‘buy 1 get 1 ticket free’ of SRK’s action thriller from September 28.
Directed by Atlee, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya and Lehar Khan.
