The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched raids on people close to former Congress MLA Amba Prasad in Jharkhand. These searches are part of an investigation into a money laundering case connected to a well-known company in the coal transport, infrastructure, and power sectors.
📍 Where Are the Raids Happening?
The ED is raiding 8 locations in:
- Ranchi
- Hazaribagh
- Barkagaon
The raids include:
- Sanjeet’s home in Kishorganj, Ranchi (a close aide of Amba Prasad)
- Homes of her personal assistant Sanjeev Saw
- Associates Manoj Dangi and Pancham Kumar in Barkagaon
Security forces are deployed at all sites to assist with the operation.
📂 What Did the ED Find Earlier?
In March 2024, ED had already raided properties of:
- Amba Prasad
- Her father, former minister Yogendra Saw
- Her brother Ankit Raj
- Several other relatives
They recovered:
- ₹35 lakh in cash
- Digital devices
- Fake bank and office stamps
- Handwritten receipts and notebooks
- Many suspicious documents
The current raids are believed to be based on those earlier findings. ED is now carefully checking documents related to:
- Land deals
- Mining activities
- Financial records
Ten companies linked to the family are also being investigated.
