Congress leader Pramod Tiwari strongly criticized the Modi government ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament starting on 22 July 2025. The attack came after a Congress Strategy Group meeting, chaired by Sonia Gandhi, where leaders discussed how to raise key issues in the upcoming session.

Pramod Tiwari Targets PM Modi

Tiwari said,

“There has been a terrorist attack on our country. The sindoor of 26 Indian women has been wiped off. We had asked for a special session of Parliament earlier. The whole country is emotional. We want to know — what action has been taken against the terrorists? No one has been caught. If there was an alert, why was there no security?”

Congress Will Raise These Issues:

  1. Operation Sindoor:
Tiwari questioned why India hasn’t taken strict action against the attackers. He also pointed to US President Trump’s claim that he stopped the war after a trade deal. Tiwari said, “We want the Prime Minister to explain. Who is responsible for this?”
  2. Bihar Elections and Election Commission’s Role:
He said the Congress will raise questions about the SIR (State Intelligence Report) and how the Election Commission is working in Bihar.
  3. Kashmir’s Statehood:
Congress will demand the restoration of full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir.
  4. Other key issues to be raised in Parliament:
    • Unemployment
    • Farmers’ issues
    • Security concerns
    • Airplane crash incidents

Sharp Words for PM Modi

Tiwari also made a strong remark:

“When it comes to wearing medals and taking awards, the Prime Minister is always first. But when the sindoor of 26 women is wiped out, who will answer for that? We will demand answers from him.”

Background

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India carried out Operation Sindoor in response. Congress has been demanding a special Parliament session to discuss the operation in detail. However, no such session has been announced by the government yet.

Congress plans to coordinate with the INDIA alliance and raise these questions strongly in the Monsoon Session.
