Hearing in HC Today on SP MLA Zahid Beg Case – Minor Maid’s Death Case

The Allahabad High Court will hear the case related to the death of a minor maid at the house of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Zahid Beg from Bhadohi.

The petition has been filed by MLA Zahid Beg’s wife Seema Beg, who is on the run, and his son Jaim Beg, who is in jail. The petition seeks:

  • Anticipatory bail for Seema Beg to avoid arrest.
  • Regular bail for Jaim Beg, who is already in jail.

No Relief from HC Yet

  • Seema Beg’s lawyer had filed a supplementary affidavit in the High Court on November 21, 2024.
  • The court has not granted any relief so far.
  • In the last hearing, no interim order was passed.
  • Seema Beg has been absconding for six months.

Minor Maid Found Dead in MLA’s House

  • On September 9, 2024, a minor maid was found dead at MLA Zahid Beg’s house.
  • On September 14, 2024, an FIR was filed at Bhadohi police station against Zahid Beg, his wife, and his son.
  • They were charged with child labor and abetment of suicide.

MLA Zahid Beg and His Son Are in Jail

  • The police first arrested Jaim Beg.
  • Later, Zahid Beg surrendered in court and was sent to jail.
  • Seema Beg is still missing.
  • A case under Section 209 was registered against Seema Beg for ignoring the district court’s order.

Property of Seema Beg Seized

  • The court ordered the seizure of Seema Beg’s property.
  • On November 18, 2024, the police seized her property in the minor maid’s suicide case.
  • Zahid Beg is in Naini Jail, Prayagraj.
  • Jaim Beg is in Varanasi Jail.
  • The police are still searching for Seema Beg.

Another Minor Maid Rescued

  • The police and labor department rescued another minor maid from the MLA’s house.
  • The High Court has merged both petitions (filed by Seema Beg and Jaim Beg) and will hear them together.
  • Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh’s single bench will hear the case today.
