Zaheer Khan has made a comeback to the IPL as the new mentor for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In IPL 2025, Gautam Gambhir will still play an important role, but Zaheer has now been given a significant responsibility within the team. Team owner Sanjiv Goenka introduced Zaheer during a press conference on Wednesday.
Before joining LSG, Zaheer was associated with Mumbai Indians, where he played an important role for a long time. Now, he has replaced Gautam Gambhir as the mentor for LSG.
Zaheer has an impressive record throughout his cricket career, and his experience will be crucial for LSG. However, there hasn’t been any official announcement about Zaheer’s salary with LSG yet. Gautam Gambhir was paid a hefty amount as a mentor, and according to Koimoi website, LSG paid Gambhir ₹3.5 crore per season. Zaheer’s salary is expected to be in a similar range.
It’s worth noting that Zaheer has a strong track record with the Indian cricket team and was a key player in the 2011 World Cup-winning squad.
