The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, had ordered all state government employees to declare their movable and immovable assets on the Human Resource Management Portal. However, only 26% of employees have submitted their asset details so far. Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh has announced that only those who provide their asset details by August 31 will receive their salary for the month. Salaries of those who do not comply will be withheld.
Only 26% of Employees Have Declared Their Assets
There are currently 1,788,429 government employees in Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, only about 26% have provided their asset details online. It has now become mandatory for all categories of officials and employees, including IAS and PCS officers, to submit their asset details online.
Deadlines Extended Multiple Times
Initially, the deadline for submitting asset details was June 30. It was stated that those who missed this deadline would not be promoted. This deadline was later extended to July 31. Despite this, 74% of employees had still not provided their details by August. The final deadline for submission is now August 31.
No Declaration, No Promotion
Principal Secretary of the Personnel Department, M. Devaraj, has communicated the Chief Secretary’s order to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, as well as department and office heads. The order states that employees who do not declare their assets will not be considered for promotion. This is the first time that asset details are being collected through the Human Resource Management Portal. Given the initial difficulties, employees have been given a final opportunity to submit their details by August 31.
