Yeshwanthpur : The deceased was found to be speeding and not wearing a helmet when their bike hit an electric pole near Yeshwanthpur.
On Friday morning, two men were killed in an accident when their motorcycle crashed into an electric pole in the city. The deceased have been identified as Manmohan (31) and Nikhil (25). The accident happened around 3.30 am. near Yeshwanthpur in Bengaluru.
According to the police, both were under the influence of alcohol and were not wearing helmets. The two died on the spot after the accident
“The accident took place on the Yeshwanthpur-Tumakuru road. Nikhil, one of the deceased along with his friend Manamohan, had come to ride a BMW bike at night after celebrating his birthday. The cause of this Yeshwanthpur accident seems to be over speeding. .. . We have registered a case and are investigating,” Sachin Gorpade, DCP Traffic North, Bengaluru City, told the media.
Nikhil lived in RMV Layout and was an MBA student and the son of the Vice Chancellor of Reva College, Tv9 Kannada reported. The police will take action against vehicles without number plates
Additional Director General of Police, Traffic and Road Safety Alok Kumar took to social media platform X and said that action will be taken against vehicles flying without number plates. He learned of the decision after a social media user posted a picture of a commercial vehicle on the road without a number plate.
In the first week of October, the police will organize an excursion for vehicles without number plates.
