Woman Rescued from Jumping Off Atal Setu by Taxi Driver and Traffic Police
A dramatic rescue of a woman attempting suicide from the Atal Setu bridge connecting South Mumbai to Navi Mumbai has gone viral on social media.
On Friday evening around 7 PM, Reema Mukesh Patel, a 56-year-old from Mulund, arrived at the Atal Setu in a taxi and stopped the vehicle towards Nhava Sheva. She walked to the suicide prevention barrier and sat on the railing. A video shows the taxi driver standing close by, watching her.
The quick actions of the taxi driver and four traffic police officers helped save her life just as she was about to fall into the Arabian Sea. Their vigilance and quick response prevented a tragedy.
