A woman has accused a Swiggy Genie delivery partner of stealing her laptop and then demanding a ransom. The incident took place in Hyderabad. According to civil engineer Nishita Gudipudi, her husband had booked Swiggy Genie to pick up his bag containing the laptop from their office and deliver it to Madhapur, a different city. However, after picking up the laptop, the delivery partner turned off his phone.

Nishita Gudipudi shared this shocking event on LinkedIn. She said that when her husband contacted customer care, they could not identify the delivery agent. Eventually, they were asked to provide two pictures to identify who picked up the parcel. The next day, when the couple tried to contact the Swiggy agent via WhatsApp call, the agent claimed that his friend was using his login.
Soon after, the couple received a message from the same number demanding ₹15,000 via Rapido to return the laptop. The woman expressed concern, saying it was clear that the agent and his friend were planning something illegal using advanced techniques.
Swiggy has not yet responded to this incident.
