Air India and Vistara Merger:
Air India and Vistara are in the process of merging, which is expected to be completed by December 2024. Vistara has announced that its last flight will be on November 11, and bookings will close on September 3. After this date, no more bookings will be accepted, and no flights will operate from November 12.
Aircraft Transfer to Air India:
Vistara stated that after the last flight on November 11, its aircraft will be transferred to Air India. Bookings will be handled by Air India starting from that date. Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan thanked customers for their support over the past 10 years and expressed excitement about the new journey with Air India. The merger is progressing well, and with Air India’s larger network and fleet, customers will receive more services.
Air India’s Service Expansion:
Campbell Wilson, CEO and MD of Air India, mentioned that the merger would result in more routes, additional flights, and staff. This will enhance the customer experience. Air India and Vistara will keep customers updated on the merger process.

FDI Approval for Singapore Airlines:
Singapore Airlines has received approval from the Indian government for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). They will invest $25 million in the Air India group and up to $67.5 million after the merger is complete. With this merger, Air India will become one of the leading airlines globally, with Singapore Airlines holding a 25.1% stake. This step brings the merger of Vistara into Air India closer.
