Kohli and Rohit Sharma will demonstrate their ODI prowess at the Asia Cup in 2023 .From August 30 to September 17, 2023, six teams will compete in the Asia Cup.

Asia Cup 2023: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma advance with 0 and 5 balls played, respectively. Because head coach Rahul Dravid wanted to try something new, both of the senior players only participated in one ODI against the West Indies. Will that be enough for Rohit and Kohli before the Continental Cup, though?

In the previous 12 months, the two superstars only played 11 and 12 ODI innings, respectively. Rohit and Kohli sole ODI match practise came against Australia prior to the 2023 IPL. In the Asia Cup, games are back-to-back, thus the senior hitters cannot afford any mistakes. Dravid wanted to try something new by giving chances to young guns , therefore Kohli and Rohit missed the two ODIs against the Windies.

On August 30, the Asia Cup is scheduled to begin, leaving Dravid no time for experimenting. The former India captain defended the choice to support young players during the news conference. Sincerely, this was our final opportunity to test out some of our athletes. Four of our players are injured and in the NCA for us. We are kind of running out of time in a lot of respects as the Asia Cup and the World Cup approach. We also anticipate that some of them will be for the World Cup and Asia Cup.

We cannot, however, take those dangers. We must give others a chance and test them out. After the second ODI between India and the West Indies, Rahul Dravid observed, “In the worst-case scenario, they at least have game time behind them.

Will Rohit and Kohli be prepared to play in the Asia Cup?

•Prior to the 2023 World Cup, India will play 10 one-day internationals, but that will depend on whether they advance to the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup.

•Rohit returned to form with a crucial hundred against New Zealand, while Kohli is in fantastic form in ODIs.

•However, the matches against Australia and New Zealand took place prior to the IPL.

•Rohit and Kohli must perform well against Pakistan in the opening round because they haven’t had any match practice.
