In Pathankot, Punjab, two people, including cricket player Suresh Raina’s uncle, were murdered in 2020. The district court has now delivered its verdict on the case. All 12 accused have been found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. Additionally, each of them has been fined two lakh rupees.

District Sessions Judge Jitendra Pal Singh Khurmi convicted the following individuals:

- Rihan alias Sonu, from Chhunjoo, Rajasthan
- Aslam alias Naso, from Dana Mandi Bhagatwali, Amritsar, Punjab
- Tawajul Bibi, from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh
- Kazim alias Reeda, from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh
- Chahat alias Jan, from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh
- Jabran, from Chhunjoo, Rajasthan
- Sajan alias Amir, from Saharanpur
- Golu alias Sehzad, from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh
- Chhujju alias Babu Miyan, from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh
Background of the Incident
In 2020, a group of people entered a house in village Thial, Pathankot, to commit robbery. They attacked the people present in the house, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals. One of the victims was Suresh Raina’s uncle.

The Shahpurkandi police in Pathankot registered a case against the 12 accused, including women. The accused were arrested from different locations. The court proceedings have been ongoing in Pathankot.
Lawyer Harish Pathania, representing the company, said that this case involves the murder and robbery of two people, one of whom was Suresh Raina’s uncle.
