Indore Road Accident News: A tragic accident occurred in Indore’s Tilak Nagar area when an auto overturned, resulting in the death of a school student. Other students in the auto also sustained injuries, though they are out of danger. The student who died was the only child in his family.
The students from St. Arnold School were traveling in the auto to reach their school. Near Tilak Nagar, the auto driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. Fifteen-year-old Harshit Shitole suffered severe head injuries and was taken to a private hospital, where he later passed away.
CCTV Video of the Accident
A CCTV video of the incident has surfaced. The video shows other children in the auto panicking and crying during the accident. The police reported that the auto driver is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol. A case has been filed against the driver, and an investigation is underway.
Case Filed Against the Auto Driver
Harshit, who had two older sisters, was the only son of his parents. His father is an engineer in a private company in Indore. Harshit used to ride a bicycle to school daily, but due to the rainy season, he had been traveling by auto. The police have registered a case against the auto driver.
Overloading in Autos
At the time of the accident, the auto (MP 09 DA 1832) was carrying more passengers than its capacity. While the district administration and police regularly check school vehicles, complaints of overloading arise due to occasional lapses in enforcement.
