Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has called an important meeting to discuss the rising terror attacks in Jammu. The meeting will focus on the situation in Jammu.

Terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir have been increasing, causing major concerns. Recently, there has been a surge in terrorist activities in the Jammu area, prompting the government to take action. Rajnath Singh’s meeting will address the situation in Jammu, which has become a particular target for terrorists recently.

The meeting is expected to include National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and other security agency heads. Notably, this meeting is happening just a day before Independence Day. The goal of the meeting is to control the ongoing terror attacks in the valley. The terrorists have faced strong resistance from the security forces.

Search Operations in Doda

In Doda district, security forces have started a search operation to capture terrorists who have hidden themselves after a brief encounter. The forces have surrounded the area and are looking for terrorists believed to be hiding in the Shivgarh-Assar region. One terrorist has been injured in the firefight, as indicated by bloodstains found in the area. Security forces have also recovered an M4 carbine and three bags. It is believed that after a joint search operation in the forests near Patnitop in Udhampur district, terrorists may have moved to these areas.

Increase in Terror Attacks in Jammu and Kashmir

Terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir have increased recently. Terrorists are targeting the army, security forces, and civilians in the hilly districts of the Jammu division. As of July 21 this year, terrorists have carried out 11 hit-and-run attacks, killing 28 people, including soldiers, security forces, and civilians. In response, security forces have conducted 28 counter-terrorism operations. There are reports of 40-50 foreign terrorists being active in the mountainous areas of the Jammu division. The army has deployed over 4,000 paratroopers and trained mountain warfare soldiers in the hilly districts of Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Udhampur, Kathua, and Reasi.

These forces are stationed on mountain peaks to prevent any hit-and-run attacks by terrorists. The army’s strategy is to drive the terrorists out of the dense forests and green areas of these hilly districts.
