PM Modi’s Visit to Mahakumbh: A Sacred Bath on Delhi Election Day?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Sources suggest that he might take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. Interestingly, his visit coincides with the Delhi Assembly elections. Here’s what his schedule might look like:

PM Modi’s Tentative Schedule:

  • 10:05 AM: Arrival at Prayagraj Airport
  • 10:10 AM: Travel to DPS Helipad
  • 10:45 AM: Reach Arail Ghat
  • 10:50 AM: Board a boat to the Mahakumbh venue
  • 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM: Participate in the Mahakumbh rituals and take a holy dip at Sangam
  • 11:45 AM: Return to Arail Ghat by boat, then travel back to DPS Helipad
  • 12:30 PM: Depart from Prayagraj Airport via Indian Air Force aircraft

Mass Participation in the Mahakumbh

The Mahakumbh, which started on January 13, 2025, will continue until February 26. According to government reports, over 370 million people have already taken a holy dip at Sangam. Several notable leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, and current CM Yogi Adityanath, have participated in the Mahakumbh.

Tragedy on Mauni Amavasya

A tragic stampede occurred on January 29, 2025, during Mauni Amavasya, resulting in 90 injuries and 30 fatalities. This incident has sparked political debates and blame games. Authorities are now working on improved crowd management for future events.
