He mentioned that Bharat Tex has become a symbol of both India’s rich traditions and its bright future. He expressed satisfaction that the seeds sown in the past have now grown into a strong tree. Bharat Tex is now turning into a Mega Global Textile Event, with participation from 120 countries.

PM Modi highlighted that this event is giving a strong boost to investment, exports, and overall growth in the textile sector. He also said that Bharat Tex showcases India’s cultural diversity through its traditional clothing.

Employment and Economic Contribution
PM Modi emphasized that the textile industry is one of the biggest employment generators in India. The sector contributes 11% to the country’s manufacturing industry. The recent budget has also focused on boosting manufacturing, benefiting workers in this sector. With increasing investments and growth, millions of workers are gaining advantages.
Future Goals for Textile Exports
Currently, India is the world’s sixth-largest exporter of textiles and garments, with exports worth nearly ₹3 lakh crore. PM Modi set a target to triple this amount to ₹9 lakh crore. He credited this progress to the consistent efforts and policies implemented over the past decade.
