The touch screen on the OnePlus Ace2 Pro functions even when it is pouring rain.

The display of OnePlus’ upcoming Ace2 Pro, according to the company, represents a technological advance. Even if it gets wet, the touchscreen will continue to function as expected.

The Ace2 Pro will react to your touches and swipes just as if it were dry, regardless of whether it is being rained on, misted, or even soaked by your own perspiration or wet fingertips.

A new custom chip and enhanced touch algorithms enable what OnePlus calls Rainwater Touch Control.

Ina comparison test that OnePlus published, the Ace2 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro are pitted against one another in a variety of rainy conditions. The iPhone reacts like the majority of devices do, with taps not working and swipes producing surprising results.

On the other hand, the Ace2 Pro appears unaffected by the circumstances. It correctly unlocks on the first try and navigates the gallery of pictures with ease. Prior to the phone’s expected August 16 formal debut, OnePlus’ president shared the video on YouTube to demonstrate how enthused the company is about the technology.

The hardware for the Ace2 Pro has already been partially disclosed.

The 6.74-inch AMOLED panel on the Rainwater Touch Control screen has a native resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1600 nits.

It Will be equipped with up to 24GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of inbuilt storage, and will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU. With OnePlus’ upgraded Cryo Velocity VC Cooling technology, the Ace2 Pro will maintain a cool environment. OnePlus reportedly packed 90 square centimetres of graphene and vapour chamber-based cooling into the Ace2 Pro, according to GSMArena.
