Ola S1 : The market leader in electric two-wheelers is receiving a strong response in the market for the recently launched new S1 series of electronic scooters.

Ola Electric has announced that its new S1 series, launched on August 15, 2023 and priced between Rs 90,000 and Rs 150,000, has received a very strong response in the market. The updated and expanded S1 range garnered over 75,000 bookings within two weeks of its launch.

According to an Ola spokesperson, we are happy that our new group S1  has received a response. We are working quickly and with  a clear vision to support the country’s leadership in electrification. With our updated range of scooters including the S1 Pro, S1 X Portfolio and our newly launched S1 Air, there’s no reason to buy an ICE product again.

According to the EV OEM, with the S1X (Rs 89,999-Rs 99,099), customers can save Rs 2,600 per month and Rs 30,000 per year on fuel and maintenance costs compared to an ICE scooter, recovering the cost of their scooter in three years. . Similarly, S1 Air (Rs 119,999) owners can save up to Rs 23,000 (Rs 1,900/month) per year, while S1 Pro (Rs 147,499) users can save up to Rs 13,000 per year (Rs 1,100/month).

According to the company, these TCO (total cost of ownership) calculations are based on an average daily driving distance of 30 kilometres.

On August 15, Ola Electric launched the S1X in three variants – S1 X , S1 X (2 kWh) and S1 X (3 kWh). Both the S1 X and the S1 X (3 kWh) have a 6 kW motor, 3 kWh battery, with a range of 151 km and a top speed of 90 km/h. The S1 X (2kWh) has the same 6kW motor and 2kWh battery, which gives the scooter a range of 91 km and a top speed of 85 km/h. The S1 X will begin shipping next month, and the S1 X (3 kWh) and S1 X (2 kWh) scooters will begin shipping in December.

On Independence Day, Ola Electric also introduced the second generation S1 Pro, which is built on a newer platform. The Gen-2 S1 Pro is priced at Rs 147,499 and now comes with twin telescopic front suspension and a flat floorboard. It has a range of 195 km and a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

Ola Electric is the market-leading electric two-wheeler OEM and has a big lead over its competitors in the current financial year, with its April-July 2023  87,611  units ahead of the No. 2 EV OEM by 40,243 units. As the  market reacts strongly to the updated S1 series electric cars, Ola’s sales numbers will grow strongly in the coming months.
