The next-generation Swift has a familiar overall design language, but there are some major updates in the details. While the current generation Swift has a curvaceous design, the new Swift has sportier cues and a sharp character line that runs through the exterior. The hood also sees a major update and the character line blends into it. Suzuki has also updated the front end with an updated grille design and a silver finish on the front chin. The Suzuki logo on the front grille of the Swift is now above the grille. At the rear, Suzuki updated the bumper to be sportier. The branding line on the sides continues above the modified tail lights. Apart from this, the new generation Swift also gets an updated design of alloy wheels.

While Suzuki hasn’t released information about the engine or transmission options offered with the new Swift, it said the car will have a “high-performance engine that strikes a balance between handling and fuel efficiency.”
The current generation Swift for the Indian market packs a single 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 90 PS and 113 Nm of torque, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The India-spec Swift is also offered with a factory-installed CNG kit.

On the safety front, Suzuki revealed that the 2024 Swift will be equipped with advanced safety technology such as two-way brake assist, collision braking, adaptive high beam system and driver monitoring system. We expect the next generation Swift to be officially unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in India next year. Competing with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago, the Swift has been popular with Indian customers since 2005.
