Maharashtra is preparing for upcoming assembly elections, and political activity is heating up. There is now internal disagreement within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over who will be the Chief Ministerial candidate.
Internal Disputes in MVA
Political parties are getting ready for the elections. The ruling coalition, Mahayuti (NDA), and the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), are both engaged in debates. In this environment, there is growing tension within MVA about who will be their Chief Ministerial candidate.
Congress election in-charge Ramesh Chennithala has stated that there have been no discussions about the Chief Ministerial candidate yet. He said, “Currently, we are focusing on the MVA as our candidate, and we will discuss the Chief Minister position after the elections.”
Sanjay Raut’s Claim
Sanjay Raut, a leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), claimed that the next government in Maharashtra will be headed by Uddhav Thackeray. He said that no matter what, Uddhav Thackeray will be the Chief Minister. Raut explained that “Thackeray 2” refers to the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. He added that despite any attempts to influence the elections, the result will be a loss for the opposition.
Raut also commented on the Congress’s search for a Chief Ministerial face. He said he would welcome any candidate from Congress if they have one. He expressed that he was looking for a popular face who resonates with the people of Maharashtra.
Raut on Fadnavis
Regarding the BJP’s decision to make Devendra Fadnavis the campaign head, Raut said it is a positive sign. He noted that with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah campaigning in Maharashtra, the BJP’s move will only help the MVA’s chances. Raut also dismissed questions about controversial meetings involving Uddhav Thackeray, stating that they would not respond to such queries.
