JEE Main 2024 : The National Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) is the gateway to undergraduate programs at leading institutions in India. The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 B.E./B.Tech. and Paper 2 for B. Arch and B. Planning. It is organized in multiple sessions and admission is based on best scores. The article describes the examination pattern, evaluation system and merit determination method that ensure fairness and accuracy in evaluating the performance of candidates.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is an engineering entrance examination in India conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).It is a gateway for enrollment in the undergraduate engineering programmes (B.E./B.Tech.) at the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). It is a qualifying test for JEE Advanced, which is an IIT entrance exam.
In recent years, JEE Main has been conducted in multiple sessions to provide flexibility to the candidates. It usually takes place in two sessions: the first session is usually in January and the second session is in April. This change was introduced to give students more opportunities to appear in the exam and improve their scores. Applicants may choose to attend one or both of these sessions and the best grades will be considered for admission.
JEE Main 2024 is a two-part exam: Paper 1 is for admission to undergraduate programs in NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs, and Paper 2 is for B.Arch and B. Course planning.
To appear in JEE Advanced, candidates must clear JEE Main with a certain minimum score. The exact score required varies from year to year.
JEE Advanced is a much tougher exam than JEE Main. It is a three-part exam: two in Physics and Mathematics and one in Chemistry. The exam is conducted in two sessions and candidates have to clear both the sessions to get admission in IIT.
If you are interested in studying engineering in IIT, you should prepare for JEE Main as soon as possible. More information about JEE Main and JEE Advanced can be found on the NTA website: https://www.nta.ac.in/.
JEE Main 2024 Test Pattern
Common Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) B.E./B.Tech. through computer based test mode (CBT).
The review model for this article is as follows:
Subject distribution of questions, total number of questions and marks:
Mathematics: 20 (Part A – multiple choice questions) 10 (Part B – number value questions) = 30 questions in total, 100 marks
Physics: 20 (Part A – Multiple Choice Questions) 10 (Part B – Numerical Value Questions) = Total 30 Questions, 100 Marks
Chemistry: 20 (Part A – Multiple Choice Questions) 10 (Part B – Numerical Questions) = Total 30 Questions, 100 Marks
Total: 90 questions, 300 marks
JEE Main 2024 Marking System :
The multiple choice question (MCQ) scoring system for JEE Mains is as follows:
•Correct answer: four points (4)
•Wrong answer: minus one point (-1)
•Unanswered/marked for review: no grade (0)
JEE Main 2024 : A method of determining merit :
The merit determination procedure in JEE Main involves the following steps
• Conversion of raw scores: the raw scores obtained by candidates from the subjects of mathematics, physics and chemistry are converted into NTA points.
•Calculation of total NTA marks: The NTA marks of individual subjects are combined to calculate the total NTA marks of each candidate.
• General Merit Preparation: The General Merit List is prepared by combining the NTA marks of all shifts of all days. This means that the results of several test sessions form a complete CV.
