Jawan OTT : Reports indicate that the satellite rights of Jawan were acquired for Rs. 250 crore which includes digital rights, satellite and music rights
Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film Jawan has already taken India by storm with its September 7 release. The excitement and frenzy surrounding the film is palpable as photos and videos of excited crowds gathering outside theaters, even at midnight, flood social media platforms. . What is clear is that Jawan struck a chord with the audience.
However, the burning question everyone has is when and where to catch Jawani on their favourite streaming platforms. Here’s a tip: Shah Rukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies has strong ties with several streaming giants, which ensures that Jawan will soon be available for streaming on platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney, Hotstar, Zee5, Voot and SonyLiv. But according to an update, the film has been sold to Netflix.
Reports suggest that the satellite rights of Jawan will cost a staggering Rs. 250 crore which includes digital rights, satellite broadcasts and music rights. It has been a successful year for Shah Rukh Khan with the release of Pathan and now the much awaited Jawan. Notably, Pathan was released on Amazon Prime Video, but was a YRF production. It is not yet clear whether Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies will follow suit or opt for a different platform. It is worth noting that previous content from his production house, such as Darlings, Betaal and Bard of Blood, found a home on Netflix.
As for Jawan’s digital release date, since Pathan hit the OTT platforms 56 days after its theatrical release, Jawan is likely to light up our screens during the festive season of Diwali in 2023.
Turning our attention to the film itself, Jawan is a high-octane thriller about a man who has faced many trials and is now determined to face the criminals of the society. He has endured much at the hands of corrupt individuals who manipulate the law and are willing to take revenge at any cost. The script of this interesting film is written by the trio of Atlee, Sumit Arora and Ramanagirivasan.
