Meanwhile, senior pro Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the first two matches but will return for the final encounter. Axar was injured in the Super 4 match against Bangladesh which was a dead rubber. Washington Sundar was then named as a last-minute substitute for the Asia Cup.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj produced a phenomenal show in the Asia Cup final on Sunday as Rohit Sharma and Co destroyed Sri Lanka by ten runs in Colombo. It was India’s eighth Asia Cup title and the team will now look to continue in the 50-over matches against Australia, after which India will play two warm-up matches and qualify for the World Cup.
