The pre-sale window for Mastercard users for India’s matches at the ICC World Cup 2023 did not go as planned. The Book My Show website crashed, leaving several minutes stranded after tickets for India’s warm-up and main matches went on sale at 6 pm (IST) on Monday. Those who were able to log into the site faced long queues. A day later, the website showed that all tickets for Mastercard users, except for the India-Afghanistan match in New Delhi, were sold out. However, the real test for ICC and Book My Show will begin on Tuesday (August 30) when the site opens for all India match tickets.
The ICC had earlier announced that tickets for India’s matches would be released in a phased manner to avoid chaos. The open-to-all sale begins today at 8:00 PM (IST) for the opening matches against England and the Netherlands in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram on September 30 and October 3 respectively. India will play England at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati in their first warm-up match before the home World Cup.
