Sai Kishore: Chennai’s left-arm orthodox spinner Sai Kishore has had a turbulent cricket career recently. He had to leave the IPL 2024 season midway due to a neck injury. After this, he spent a few months at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore to regain his fitness. Despite being out of action due to injury, Kishore is confident that he will be selected for the Indian cricket team soon. He performed excellently in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) recently. Sai Kishore is hopeful about securing a place in the Indian team and has shared his thoughts with The New Indian Express.
“I Am the Best Spinner in India”
In an interview, Sai Kishore stated, “I believe I am one of the best spinners in the country. If you put me in Test matches, I am ready. Ravindra Jadeja is also there; I have never played with him in the red-ball format. Therefore, playing with him would be a great learning experience for me. I am confident and more prepared than ever.”
Preparing for 50 Overs Bowling
Regarding the Buchi Babu tournament, Sai Kishore said, “I am playing this tournament because I need to be ready for 50 overs of bowling. I want to play as much cricket as possible. Sometimes, injuries can be a blessing because players can get bored with too much cricket. This hasn’t happened much with me, but it does with most players. Naturally, when I get injured, I become eager to play again. If I need to bowl 50 overs, I will do it gladly. So, this injury has been a blessing for me. I am very eager to get back on the field.”
The Indian team is set to play a Test series against Bangladesh in September. The selectors will announce the team next month. By making these statements, Sai Kishore is surely trying to impress the selectors.
