Has Akash Anand’s Political Career Ended After Mayawati’s Decision?

After Mayawati removed Akash Anand from all BSP positions, people are wondering about his future. Will he stay in BSP or choose a different political path?

Why Was Akash Anand Removed?

Mayawati introduced Akash Anand into politics eight years ago to strengthen BSP. She even made him her political successor. However, she recently removed him from all key positions. Mayawati blamed his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, for damaging both BSP and Akash’s political career. She also criticized Akash’s wife in this matter.

This is the second time in a year that Mayawati has taken strict action against her nephew. Previously, she removed him during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections after an FIR was filed against him for controversial remarks. However, he was reinstated a month later. Now, after eight months, he has been removed again.

Who Has Taken Akash Anand’s Place?

During a recent BSP meeting in Lucknow, Akash Anand was officially removed. His usual seat was occupied by Ramji Gautam, who has now taken over his responsibilities. Along with Ramji Gautam, Mayawati’s brother, Anand Kumar, has been appointed as BSP’s national coordinator. While Anand Kumar will handle paperwork and state coordination, Ramji Gautam will travel across the country, gather reports, and strengthen BSP at the ground level.

Is Akash Anand’s Political Career Over?

At the moment, there seems to be no space for Akash Anand in BSP. Mayawati has clearly stated that Ashok Siddharth’s influence has harmed Akash’s political career. It is uncertain whether Akash’s wife will continue to be influenced by her father, and how that will impact Akash’s future in politics.

Mayawati had already expelled Ashok Siddharth and another BSP leader, Nitin Singh, from the party for engaging in anti-party activities. Now, Akash has also been sidelined, making his political future uncertain.

What Are Akash Anand’s Options Now?

  1. Stay in BSP and Wait: Akash is still a member of BSP. He can continue working as a regular party worker and wait for the right time to regain Mayawati’s trust. His father, Anand Kumar, still holds a strong position in BSP, which might help Akash in the future.
  2. Regain Mayawati’s Trust: Akash has lost Mayawati’s confidence, but he can try to win it back. If he proves that he is not under Ashok Siddharth’s influence, Mayawati may reconsider her decision. She is known for changing her mind quickly if she is convinced.
  3. Leave BSP and Start Afresh: Akash may choose to leave BSP and explore new political opportunities. However, this is unlikely, as leaving BSP could mean losing the Dalit voter base that remains loyal to Mayawati.
  4. Focus on Business: Akash Anand has a background in business. He studied in London and has been involved in business activities before joining politics. He may now choose to focus on his business ventures instead of continuing in politics.

Final Thoughts

Mayawati’s decision has put Akash Anand in a tough position. His political career now depends on the choices he makes. Will he stay in BSP, try to regain Mayawati’s trust, or focus on business? Only time will tell.
