Google Pixel Watch 2 : The search giant’s second smartwatch is expected to launch on October 4.
When Google launched its first Pixel Watch last year, we suspected it might follow up with another smartwatch this year. Not only did Google confirm that the new Pixel Watch will launch alongside the upcoming Pixel 8 on October 4, but the company also showed off the device in a short teaser video.
Google released a 15-second video showing off the Google Pixel Watch 2 on Friday, and there’s not much to think about its brevity. The new watch retains the circular design of its predecessor, with a large rotating crown on the right side and a single button above the crown.
The video shows a simplistic watch face with a quartet of hands below that look like app widgets. If you look closely at the bottom of the watch, you’ll see markings like IP68 (dust and water resistance) and SPo2 (indicating the blood oxygen sensor that was promised when the original Pixel Watch was launched and finally activated six months later via software). update).
It’s likely that Google will want to add advertising to its products a month after they’re released, especially since most of the tech world is looking to Apple’s iPhone 15 launch in September. 12. But it’s still pretty significant that Google itself is ditching preview videos introducing its products ahead of time — the company only teased the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in a similar short video on Thursday.
The preview video didn’t reveal when the Google Pixel Watch 2 will be available, but the very small text on the screen said that pre-orders will be available on October 4, the day the Pixel devices launch. There was also no indication if the price would change from the $350 (£339, $549) starting price of the first Pixel watch.
