Case Filed Against Comedian Kunal Kamra
A case has been filed against comedian Kunal Kamra for his comments about Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. Late at night, supporters of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) vandalized the set of his show. This incident has sparked a major political debate.
Congress MP Imran Masood has strongly criticized the attack. He said, “These people cannot even tolerate criticism. The situation in Maharashtra is becoming worse, and no investors will come here.”
“They Are Ruining Maharashtra” – Imran Masood
Imran Masood expressed concern about the violence and said, “This is sad. Maharashtra was once a major economic hub, attracting many investors. But with such an atmosphere, no one will invest here. The youth of Maharashtra are being forced to leave, and the state’s condition will only worsen.”
He also compared Maharashtra’s situation to West Bengal. He said, “West Bengal was once an industrial powerhouse. But due to political issues and protests, investors left. The same will happen to Maharashtra. Investors need peace and stability, but here, even freedom of speech is under attack. The government cannot tolerate criticism, but the opposition’s job is to show them the truth.”
FIRs Filed in the Case
- An FIR has been registered at Mumbai’s MIDC police station against Kunal Kamra for his comments on Eknath Shinde.
- Another FIR has been filed against Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Rahul Kanal and 19 others for vandalizing Kamra’s office.
Shiv Sena Leader Rahul Kanal Responds
Shiv Sena leader Rahul Kanal defended the actions, saying, “This is not about breaking the law. It is about self-respect. When someone insults our elders or respected citizens, we will respond in our own way. This is just the beginning. Whenever you are in Mumbai, you will be taught a lesson in Shiv Sena style.”
This controversy has created a huge debate about freedom of speech and political intolerance in Maharashtra. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to criticize each other.
