On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remembered the victims of the partition. He urged people to learn from past mistakes and draw inspiration from India’s glorious history. He questioned why a nation with such a rich history and resilience, which endured foreign invasions and fought for independence, had to suffer the tragedy of partition right after gaining freedom.
CM Yogi strongly criticized the Congress party, saying the partition did not occur in any other era but during the rule of the power-hungry Congress. He claimed that if the political leadership at that time had shown determination, no external force could have imposed the division. But due to a lack of will and greed for power, Congress was willing to risk the nation for their political gain. He said this was still ongoing since 1947, and the people were still paying the price for Congress’s political games.
CM Yogi said that the tragedy of partition should remind everyone of past mistakes. India had once commanded respect worldwide for its strength and wisdom, but the Congress government wasted the sacrifices of many freedom fighters. The pain of partition was overshadowed by the celebrations of independence led by Jawaharlal Nehru on August 15, 1947, while millions suffered and were forced to leave their homes.
He noted that today, 1.5 crore Hindus in Bangladesh are pleading for safety, but the international community and secularists in India remain silent, concerned only about their vote banks. Their lack of empathy and failure to speak out against these injustices are evident.
CM Yogi also reminded that the Congress party, which inherited power from the British, did not lead India effectively but merely continued the colonial legacy. He recalled Maharishi Aurobindo’s words from 1947, stating that Pakistan would either merge with India or cease to exist in the world.
