BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has been in the news recently for its efforts to expand its user base with new offers. If you use a BSNL SIM card or are planning to switch to BSNL, there’s good news for you. BSNL is expected to launch its 5G service soon.
What’s New?
BSNL is planning to offer high-speed 5G internet to its users in the near future. According to reports, BSNL aims to launch its 5G service by the end of 2025. The company is expected to complete its 4G rollout by March 2025 and then start setting up its 5G network within about eight months. BSNL is targeting a 25% market share by the end of 2025.
Current Situation
Currently, only Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel offer 5G services, with Jio having 108 million customers and Airtel 90 million. Vodafone Idea, the third-largest telecom company, is in the process of ordering 5G equipment from various vendors.
Increased Prices by Private Companies
In July, Jio, Airtel, and VI increased their recharge plans by 10% to 27%. This price hike has made BSNL’s cheaper plans more attractive. Many people are shifting to BSNL due to its lower rates, and the company is introducing new offers to attract more customers.
BSNL’s New Plans
BSNL has announced it will soon launch Over the Air (OTA) and Universal SIM platforms for its 4G and 5G networks. These platforms will allow customers to easily choose their SIM cards and avoid geographical restrictions.
